Celebrations ran throughout the day on Thursday 8th May to reflect, remember, and celebrate the end of the Second World War and the sacrifices made by those involved. We honour the bravery and resilience for our today.
To start off the day, we were joined by Kirsty Allan who gave us a fantastic rendition of all the war time classics.
Everyone then took on the challenge with our war time quiz! Well done to team ‘Mary’s Gang’ for winning, team ‘M&N’ for being the runners up and team ‘Moores’ for coming in third place!
The celebrations continued with garden and indoor games and finished off with a brilliant BBQ! Not to mention the finale of ‘Tug of War’ between the staff and friends and family, which went down a treat to end a perfect day.
We would like to thank all the family and friends for joining us, all the staff for their continued hard work to make it such a wonderful day, to Mel-Cook for preparing all the food and making some scrumptious VE Day cupcakes and to Dan Wilcock for hosting the BBQ!
We couldn’t have done it without you all!
