Earlier in the year Brian Reynolds, on behalf of the Ashton and Mossley District, made a successful application to the Grant Making Committee for funds of £1,077 to support the St Peters Community Gathering to be held in July. Joyce Bowerman, who was the Mayor at the time of the application, has sent this letter of thanks.
Dear Brian,
As Chair of St Peter’s Community Gathering and on behalf of our members I would like to sincerely thank the AuL and Mossley Freemasons for their very generous grant to our community group. The grant enabled us to hold our annual St Peter’s Community Gathering Family Fun Day in Oxford Park on Saturday 7th July.
We had a wonderful day, the weather was hot and sunny and so many families enjoyed a great day out without having to worry about the cost. As St Peter’s ward is classed as a highly deprived area many families find it hard to finance expensive trips out for their children and our Fun Day ensured these families enjoyed a super day of fun, food and entertainment that didn’t cost them anything.
Thanks to the Masons we had a super community event and I am so glad you were able to come along on the day and see first hand the joy, excitement and happiness your grant provided. We had our photo in the Tameside Reporter and the Deputy Mayor Councillor Leigh Drennan and his Consort Cory James were also in attendance and had a great time!
It was a splendid day Brian, thank you for all your support and friendship and thank you once again to the Masons for their benevolence and kindness to our community group. It is very much appreciated.
Kind regards.
Joyce.
