At the recent meeting of the ELMC Grant Making Committee it was agreed to fund half of the cost of a special wheelchair for four year old Elizabeth, who suffers with an array of complex needs. This special wheelchair would cost £4,587 but the ELMC shared the cost with the NHS.
Sophie Spiby, who is the adoptive mother of Elizabeth, wrote “Elizabeth’s new wheelchair, fit for a princess. Thank you to the NHS for funding half and the wonderful East Lancashire Masonic Charity for funding the other half. Elizabeth has even started moving the wheels herself. Miss Independent”
