East Lancs Masonic Charity and Masonic Charitable Fund joined forces to fund a “Magic Carpet” sensory surface for Rochdale charity Jolly Josh.
Jolly Josh, a charity set up in memory of Joshua Kelly, provides dedicated support for children and their families with complex needs and profound and multiple disabilities. They held the grand opening of their new state-of-the-art facility on Saturday 30thApril where Doug Smith, Rochdale District Chair and District Charity Steward John Taylor got to see the £7000 donation from ELMC and MCF in action.
The Magic Carpet is an award-winning interactive projections system that displays motion responsive games and activities onto large surfaces, and its installation in the facility means that Jolly Josh team can offer a wide variety of stimulating content for exploration, learning, playing and therapy to the children they help and support.
John Taylor said “The Rochdale District Team and Jolly Josh are so pleased that this project could be supported by the ELMC and MCF. It will make a massive difference to the children who visit Jolly Josh and is a brilliant example of how MCF funding donated through festivals is used in communities like ours.”
