There were smiles all around on Friday 20th June as Fishers Mobile Farm rolled up on the Hewlett Court carpark, bringing a delightful mix of furry and feathered friends for the staff, residents, families and friends to meet, feed and fuss over. The carpark was transformed into a mini petting zoo, complete with a snoozy pig called Sharon, lambs named Dot and Speckles, cheeky goats Nellie, Nina and Nancy, a gentle calf called William and a pair of charming ducks named Melanie and Melissa. Everyone had the chance to say hello to the clucking chickens – Magpie, Peaches, Ida and Layla.

It is such a treat to get up close and personal with the animals. The animals were calm and friendly and the staff from the mobile farm guided residents through the experience, offering to stroke feed and learn more about each animal. The joy and relaxation the animals brought were clear to see.

Visits like this are a wonderful way to brighten the day and bring the outside farm life world to us, especially for those that used to live in the countryside or kept animals themselves.
