Bob the Builder is set to become a permanent fixture outside Peel Brow primary school in Ramsbottom thanks to a charity donation by the ELMC. A construction of the children’s TV character will stand outside the Early Year’s Foundation Stage building.
Bury District Charity Steward Steve Clark and his wife Sandra visited the school to present a cheque for £1,000-00. The pupils gave Steve a huge “Bob the Builder” thankyou card which was signed by all of the EYFS children, and they presented Sandra with a bouquet of flowers.
It is hoped that the structure will be complete by the time the children return from the Spring half term break.
Julie Nelson, the Early Years Foundation lead teacher said “The new structure will complement the existing mud kitchen and climbing frame and is a great boost to the outdoor provision at Peel Brow primary school. It is great to see the youngest members of the community benefit directly from such localised fundraising.”
The headteacher Danny Mellor said “Peel Brow School enjoys a spacious setting with plenty of green space. We are in the midst of an outdoor play scape upgrade scheme and the gift from the East Lancashire Masonic Charity allows us to purchase a significant structure that allows out pupils to have fun while learning through play”
