The ELMC Comforts Fund Committee arranged for this years Annual Holiday to take place on 24 to 31 May 2014, once again, at the Clifton Park Hotel, St Anne’s on Sea.
This venue becomes more and more popular each year resulting in sixty eight widows and Brethren of the Province attending the holiday along with the Comforts Fund Chairman, WBro Charles Ward and Julie Ward.
One change the Committee made this year was to depart from Hewlett Court for tea/coffee reception followed by a wonderful buffet lunch, prepared by our resident Cook Melanie, and a glass of wine [or two] prior to departure for St Anne’s. It was such a wonderful atmosphere with both Residents and holiday attendees mixing together. There was also a visit from the Lodge of St John No 191, Bury District. The Lodge Members enjoyed the opportunity of having a tour of Hewlett Court as well as being involved in the ELMC Annual Holiday activities.
During the week our guests were treated to a days outing to the Tower Ballroom which is a very popular choice of event. Lunch was provided at the Ballroom; an afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and tea.
On Saturday 31 May we returned to Hewlett Court for a light lunch before saying our goodbyes until the next time we meet in September for the Autumn Outing
As always the food, facilities and staff at the hotel were fantastic. It was a wonderful week and an event which all the Brethren of East Lancashire should be very proud of.
The trippiers are gathering…
…as is their luggage
The excitement builds…
…as the wine is served
The buffet is ready…
…to be enjoyed…
…by all
The coach arrives…
…and the luggage is loaded
Time to board…
…unless you need a lift…
…or two!
