The Freemasons of City West Area, formerly Salford Area, led by Ian Macneill, Area Charity Steward, recently made application to the ELMC Grants Committee for funding for two very worthwhile projects.

Salford Food Bank

The first application was from Salford Food Bank who were awarded £500.00 by the ELMC matched with £500.00 by the MCF, which was added to by Masons of City West by another £1,000.00.These magnificent sums were used to buy food for the food bank, which supplies over 400 food parcels each week to families in the area.

Salford Womens Aid

The Second Grant was to Salford Women’s Aid who received an ELMC Grant of £653.10, matched with £653.10 from the MCF, towards the purchase of furniture and kitchen utensils for the home which accommodates 14 mothers and 18 children.

There was also a food donation from a number of Masons, Hemsley House and the Catering Staff.
