A perfect autumn outing began on Tuesday 9th September, with sunshine streaming across the rolling landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales on our journey to Grange over Sands, which led us to the elegant and impressive Netherwood Hotel, where we enjoyed a delightful Afternoon Tea overlooking the scenic surroundings.
From there, we travelled to Haverthwaite Station and stepped back in time aboard a charming steam train, winding through the tranquil Lake District countryside to Lakeside.
At Lakeside, we boarded a boat and set sail across the sparkling waters of Lake Windermere. As if timed to perfection, we were treated to a spectacular aerial display of jets soaring overhead – a thrilling, unexpected highlight!
We disembarked at Bowness-on-Windermere, taking in the lively atmosphere and lakeside charm before beginning our return journey home.
A huge thank you to the ELMC organisers for putting together such a wonderful and memorable autumn outing! The weather couldn’t have been better, and it was clear from all the smiling faces that everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
